Three finalists selected for Václav Havel Human Rights Prize

On Monday 26 August 2018 the selection committee of the Václav Havel Human Rights Prize held a meeting at the Václav Havel Library; its members considered 27 nominees that had met the criteria for the award and chose three finalists: Ales Bialiatski (Belarus), the Georgia Young Lawyers’ Association (Georgia) and Rights Defence Network (China).

On 29 September, at a second meeting which will be held in Strasbourg, the panel will name the winner of the Prize. This will be officially announced by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe at 12.30 pm on the first day of the autumn session, on 30 September 2013.
