Martin C. Putna has received the 2011 Tom Stoppard Prize for his book “Václav Havel: A spiritual portrait within the framework of Czech culture.” We congratulate him!

The Tom Stoppard Prize was founded in Stockholm in 1983. It is awarded annually in May to authors of Czech origin for a major, predominantly essayist work that inspires primarily in terms of its philosophical contribution. It is sponsored by the namesake, an English dramatist of Czech origin.
