As in 2015, this year we will also meet the fresh recipient of the Ferdinand Peroutka Award on 25 February. While on the day of the anniversary of Victorious February last year we explored how journalism is conducted nowadays, this year we will focus more on the various threats to journalistic freedom at present and what contemporary journalists most fear.

Which threats pose a bigger danger to freedom of expression and the media in Czech society, internal or external ones? Is oligarchisation the biggest problem the Czech media faces? What role can and in reality do public service media outlets have today? And were things ever actually different? This year’s Ferdinand Peroutka Award laureate will be among those taking part in the discussion. Martin Groman, from the association which bestows the prize, will host the evening.
