Evenings with Polish Reporters

If we wish to understand today’s world, news agencies reports are not enough – and Polish reporters are capable of connecting personal experience with efforts to grasp the deeper substance of the events described. Within the series Evenings with Reporters, organised by the Václav Havel Library and the Polish Institute in Prague, new Czech translations of Polish reportage will be presented in debates on pressing contemporary issues. Lucie Zakopalová will host the series.

Paweł Smoleński has long been focused on the area of Israel and Palestine. His book Iraq: Hell in Paradise was issued by the publishers Dokořán and Jaroslava Jiskrová – Máj in 2015, translated by Michala Benešová and Lucie Zakopalová. His book of reportage Israel Isn’t Flying Anymore also came out in Czech (2013).
