The writer and documentary maker Jan Novák – author of such novels as Milionový džíp (Million Dollar Jeep), Zatím dobrý – příběh bratří Mašínů (So Far, So Good – The Story of the Mašín Brothers), Hic a kosa v Chicagu (Scorchers and Big Freezes in Chicago) – created a filmed reconstruction of a memorable holiday taken by Václav Havel in 1985 that turned into a massive police operation. Three-hundred police officers took part, his friends were subject to interrogations and searches following his visits, Václav Havel was arrested twice… and the summer reached a climax. That’s how it was in those days.
