Band: The Background to the Operation that Produced Charter 77

1976. Amid the harsh normalisation regime dozens of rock music fans, independent artists and members of the “unwholesome youth” are arrested. Václav Havel, Jiří Němec and other dissidents organise support in their defence. And Charter 77 is born.
The background and details of this now legendary, foundational story are explored in the book Kapela (Band) by historian Ladislav Kudrna.
František Stárek, who lived through those times, will project unique photos from the then underground.
Jáchym Topol will host the evening and ask the questions.
